ACW Ministry

A.C.W. (Anglican Church Women)

The ACW comprises all of the women in the congregation. They are divided up into teams and each team has a captain who receives a call from the coordinator with details of the menu, set up and number of people expected for the event that they are catering, usually funeral receptions.

The kitchen and hall are booked and arrangements are made to have the hall set with tables and chairs.

Captains determine menu details i.e. type and amount of sandwiches and desserts needed.

Sandwiches are made at the hall and supplies are purchased by the captain and the te4am members and home-workers are phoned for food donations and help.

The Captain oversees all preparations with every effort made to arrange food attractively on tables with cloths and centre pieces.

Captains also organize the clean up and assign laundering of towels and tablecloths and make sure the hall is left clean and tidy for the next event.
